H.L. VARG present first class Germanic heathen metal, full of catchy melodies and anthemic refrains. The sound is organic, transparent and heavy, the level of pathos is high but adequate. The usage of different voices, from harsh but understandable vocals to female singing brings good dynamic and also variety into the songs. The additional bonus disc, the same songs recorded with musician friends, is a nice bonus, and "Ewige Wacht", supported by Forndom, is even better than the original version. Favorite track: Ewige Wacht.
